Where every Hill Studio garden starts.
A 60-90 minute visit to your space, on site, where I walk it slowly and talk through how you actually live there what works, what frustrates you, what you’d want it to do in a year. You’ll get my honest read on the spot, and a written follow-up the next day with direction, plant ideas and a rough budget so you know where things could go.
This is for anyone at the start of thinking about their garden and wanting a clear, considered direction before spending on a full design or build.
Included: the on-site visit + a next-day written summary with direction and plant suggestions + a rough budget range so there are no surprises.
Next step: book a consult and I’ll be in touch to find a time. It’s always paid, and it credits naturally into a design or build if you go ahead. -
The full design, yours to build at your own pace.
A complete design package delivered including a mood board, plant list, layout and a render of the vision so you can install it yourself, stage it over time, or hand it to your own landscaper. The thinking is the same as a full Hill Studio build; you’re just taking the doing into your own hands.
Right for confident gardeners, or anyone who wants a considered plan now and the flexibility to build when budget and time allow.
Included: mood board + full plant schedule with quantities + a layout plan + a render of the finished version.
Next step: start with a consult, then I’ll quote the design based on the size and complexity of your space. -
One day. A tired garden, brought back to life.
A single focused day on an existing garden editing what’s not working, replanting, restyling and re-mulching so the space feels considered again. No full redesign, no upheaval; just the right hands making the right moves in a day.Ideal for a garden with good bones that’s lost its way, or a property you want lifted before selling.
Included: a half-day to full day on site + selective editing and replanting + restyling and fresh premium soil & mulch + a walk-through and care guide on completion.
Next step: a quick consult or site visit, then a fixed quote. Starts at $1,800. -
A garden designed and planted, start to finish.
This is the heart of what I do. A complete naturalistic garden designed around how you live and what your site actually wants, then fully installed: soil prepared, beds planted, mulched and watered in, ready to settle and grow into itself over the seasons. Layered, alive, chosen for movement and texture, and built to age well rather than peak on day one.For homeowners who want a genuinely considered garden and a single person who designs it, plants it, and stands behind it.
Included: full design (mood board, plant schedule, layout, render) + site preparation and soil amendment + weed suppression and premium mulch + supply and installation of plants from quality growers + watering-in, walk-through and care guide + a 14-day warranty. How it works: consult → design and quote within 24 hours of the site visit → 30% deposit to lock your start → install over 2 days to 2 weeks depending on scope → walk-through and care guide on completion.
Next step: book a consult. Most projects land between $3,500 and $8,000.

The whole outdoor space - one person holding it all together.
Everything in Design + Build, plus I manage the trades the larger projects need: concrete, decking, drainage, lighting, structures. You deal with one person, me and I coordinate the rest so the hard and soft landscape come together as one considered space, not a series of disconnected jobs.
For more involved transformations where the garden is part of a bigger outdoor project and you’d rather not juggle five contractors yourself.
Included: everything in Design & Build + sourcing and coordinating trusted contractors + a single point of contact and accountability + scheduling and quality across the whole project.
How it works: consult and full scoping → detailed quote → staged across the build with clear milestones. Contractor coordination carries a margin, reflected transparently in the quote.Next step: book a consult and we’ll scope the full project together.

Keeping a Hill Studio garden looking like one.
Quarterly visits to gardens I’ve designed pruning, editing, seasonal care and the small decisions that keep a naturalistic planting reading as intentional rather than overgrown. Naturalistic gardens are low-maintenance, not no-maintenance, and the difference over years is whoever’s making those calls.Offered to existing design and build clients, to protect the investment and keep the garden ageing well
Included: a half-full day quarterly visit + seasonal pruning and editing + plant health checks + advice on anything emerging in the garden.Next step: available once your garden’s installed — we’ll set up a quarterly rhythm that suits the planting.
